The Historic First

Some Things Have Never Been Done. Until Now.

Israel is a nation of sailors: Olympic medalists, world champions, a country whose story has always run through the sea. And yet in one arena, Israel has never once competed: Olympic catamaran sailing. That first is still waiting.

Mika Sternberg is about to claim it. She is an Israeli National Champion and the top female skipper on the West Coast. Born in Tel Aviv and raised in Los Angeles, she learned to race on the very waters where the 2028 Olympic medals will be decided. She races the Nacra 17, a catamaran that lifts out of the water and flies at over 30 knots.

When that boat crosses the line with the Israeli flag on its sail, it will be a first in the history of the Olympic Games, and every single person who helped launch this campaign will be part of that moment. Not watching history. Making it.
